Right I've been messing with the truck all day, removed the battery but still can not get to the washer pump! Anyway I found a multiplug connector which goes to the Level Sensor and Washer Pump. So a bit of tricky work with jump leads and I can meter the wires out. The Blue/Red and the black cables go to the sensor so they were easy enough. This left the Pink and the Green/Black wires. Tested using a multi meter and a circuit tester and got some really odd results.
With Ignition On both the cables were 12V +

When Front Washer is switched the pink goes - and the Green gives approx 1V extra so instead of reading 11 point something it was 12 point something.

When the Rear Washer was switched both wires were negative.

Can someone explain what on earth is going on? I'm thinking that it is pointing to some kind of control unit that has gone faulty.

sounds like a bad earth problem to me, but I cannot check on mine as it is petrol and the washer is on the other side so harness is going to be different, Rick

I would definitely go with bad earth. Thats very similar symptoms you would get if you measured voltage on the random lights scenario :D

Oh bugger, that'll be tricky to find then.

Is anyone messing about with their battery and willing to test their connections?

Thanks
Jim

MOT time this week so had another go with this. Connected 12v feed to washer pump and it blew fuses straight away so I'm guessing thats buggered and I think the controller is too. For the moment I've stuck a universal pump connected to a rocker switch on the dash for now. Hope that will pass the MOT.
Still not happy with it but will have to look at later.

did this a while back

did our washer pump a while back it had siezed solid battery needs to come out as does the inner plastic wheel arch to get the washer bottle out which once you have removed all the fixing bolts holding it in place comes apart in 2 bits, there are some extra fixing bolts behind the fuse box so pull that off to get to them i got a new pump off ebay for about a fiver
