Here's a fix that worked for me, thanks from a few on fb page for locating pump.

Take off the washer bottle, as it had been a while since filled it stank horrid and was grey in colour...

Here's the pump, just wiggle it out :thumb2

I then took advise and cut two bits of wire, one to each pin of the pump and tapped the battery, you can reverse this too as it uses both ways for front and rear.

Here's a short video :thumbs

All is working fine now, no.need to replace

Well Alex you take poor advice and follow it...:doh
Don't you ever read our posts on this forum?:doh

Where is the fuse? Even when testing something USE A FUSE...

If for any reason, the pump had shorted, or the wires in the pump were touching, or a wire slipped off and touched the body, then the wire you are holding would become red hot, and melt and set fire to the insulation.
You would burn your hand, and anything that the wire touches will be burnt, including any insulation on the local cables, or even the battery top.
Within a second, the wire will get hot enough to melt the inner now exposed copper core which will be thrown in all directions.
I hope you are wearing eye protection, and leather welding gloves.

This is really a dangerous thing to do, and to put the information on a public website is dangerous and should be removed immediately.

I wonder if following these instructions, someone was blinded or they set fire to their vehicle, then you would be responsible.

Remove the video.
:surrender:surrender

Next time you are at Ricks, ask him to demonstrate what a short circuit can do to a wire, I'm sure he can perform it safely.
Say using jump leads to a length of wire at a suitable distance from anything vulnerable.

Bah I don't do any of that, But then again i am very careful.

fuse

i dont do any of that - but Im daft :doh

It ain't rocket science, nowhere near body either.

This forum makes me die...

Suggesting I was holding plutonium or something it was only tapped, I ain't gonna waste time faffing about with a fuae to tap it for half a second, it clearly worked end of...

:thumb2safety first mate:lol:lol:lol
this is how I tried the one on the mrs motor:thumb2

Have to say I've tested relays etc the same without a fuse. No harm if you're careful and it's only for a second.

many many years ago i was called out in pouring rain to a van for a jump start, this i did but bang the battery blew up all over me,good job i had glasses on as my jacket started to melt and face stinging.
i connected + first then _ then boom.
what i had not noticed was that the battery i was connecting in the van still had clear wrap around it,hence bang the gas exploded.
it was wet raining and dark so i did not see the wrap.
lesson learnt.nothing was on both motors and it was a tiny little ark but boom.so a fuse.please even a flyer one.

This forum will help to keep you alive...
You put yourself at risk with most jobs.
The first was when you went under the truck on a main road, only supported by a trolley jack.
Following my post you bought some axle stands, and then used them.
You live another day.
Just because it's 12 volts doesn't make it safe to work with.
A short circuit on a car battery has more power available than any 9.5 kW electric shower.

Still laughing my socks off at the

"This forum makes me die" sentence :lol :lol

Yes but we are talking Alex here :doh

Uncle Rustic, I could not agree more..........I know we all have to learn, most of us did it way back in the mist of time......from usually older and wiser folk, some with bits of anatomy missing in my case!

Alex, is on a steep learning curve a bit later in life, and perhaps without the `feel`for engines/mechanics/electrics that some of us have almost built in......:nenau

I supppse I could take " I couldn't give a damn attitude " and if Alex does something that affects the rest of his life then that's down to him.:nenau
But he also has a wife and kids to think about, so if I'm not doing it for Alex, then I must do it for them.:thumb2

My main concern is that he posted it on the internet, and some one with less knowledge and expertise than Alex (yes there could be lol ) could follow the instructions in that video and become a cropper. They might also have a wife and kids.
I haven't got to this age without learning something lol.
And yes, I too have melted an odd wire :doh
Burnt my wrist on a hot exhaust, cut my finger many times, stood on a rusty nail...
But if I can use my experience and knowledge to help others from making similar mistakes then that's fine.
However there are those that don't think before they start a job, no planning, it's what industry calls risk assessment.

Alex and his washer pump

As an outsider looking in . I sit on here some nights in the back ground reading some of the comments and I feel that this needs to be said .
Alexd333 mite be right to post his thread or he mite be in the wrong to have post his thread on his washer pump . You will have to make your own minds up on it . ( I have an opinion which I will keep to myself )
It seems to me that some ppl have it in for him on this forum .
Which I think is unfair and uncalled for . These actions could be conscribed as a form of bullying . And it needs to stop . !!!
We are all members paying our subs to be on here because we all like our Nissan trucks . There needs to be all types of member or there would be no forum .
Now my post mite not be like by some well that's your opinion and I don't really care if ppl don't like it .
But I felt this need to be said .
Rant over !! Thanks for listening to me
Rich .
