Naa, you just get a more efficient water cooled I/C....

just as long as i keep the n/s out the water if i aint got a snorkal, like the sound of an engine wash is a bit muddy under there lol

oh yes..

ive had water down there..

stil ok.. before K&N though

Just make yourself some kind of bung to fill the hole in on the bonnet.

I know on my Mercedes 312 Sprinter that if I cleaned the engine off (Got water on it OR probably a certain part) it played havoc with the electrics and would go into limp mode most of the time until it had dried off.Not nice when you have no throttle at all stuck in the road holding all the traffic up :(

i'd be very carefull with water so deep it's capable of going into the intercooler scoop. As it will be very easy for the nearside to go a little deeper one day.

i dont want to go that deep lol, i as just wondering incase water splashed up onto the bonnet

as long as you go NO DEEPER that 3/4 up the wheel youll be fine..

any deeper and the water can get a bow wave inside the bonnet and get close the the air filter...

what about close to the windows. Went through a ford sunday, Shat myself. Luckily no water was sucked in. :doh

I will be getting a snorkel asap

a wet intercooler is not a problem, some performance cars have a constant mist of water sprayed over the intercooler to enhance performance. Think of where it is on the bonet, and how much water must get in there when driving in the rain :thumb2

Yep did it :D
Got some squirters off fleabay and a subaru water intercooler switch:thumbs
Works a treat, but no idea what performance gain there may be:augie
Will get it on a rolling road one day and find out:sly

oooo that looks good, i want it, how much that cost to build? because i'm not going to bothr getting new viscous fan and i bet that will help keep the engine lovely and cool without it

Hi,
If you are in deep water the rad fan is going to be working very hard in the water that comes up from below.

Dont go using this to keep your engine cool:doh There may be some minor benefit but I wouldn't bank on it:rolleyes:
Fans are cheap enough on fleabay, I did post a thread when I did the mod so could be worth a quick search:thumbs
