Jeezez thats not a track its a ditch........trouble is the only way to prevent that is restrict access and is that fair to all? Don't know what the answer is really....

the more they close the harder the open ones get worn.... come on you dont need to be carol vorderman

same numbers - less space = more wear

Don't need to look at links I know what its like.

Seasonal TRO is the only answer to the Viking way really.

Too many plonkers go down there when its just too soft from heavy rain, its a fairly long standing problem on there, admittedly made worse by NERC act closing other lanes, but the plonkers have always been there.

We eed to show a little self restraint and only go laning when the lanes can take it, poorly draining areas like the Viking way and the Driffield area lanes etc should just be left alone when its wet - theres plenty of other lanes to go at. A number of times I have changed the planned route or even total area because its been raining for a few weeks before the trip - its just common sense if we destroy the lanes they will get closed for good as councils just don't have the budgets - thats why they missed tarmacing these lanes in the first place - lack of budget.

Sheila spoke to someone where she works that is just getting into laning ,some of his mates were telling him about viking way and telling him that they went last weekend with 3 trucks 2 of them broke running gear leaving 1 good truck in the middle, so he cauldnt tow eather of them out .
Sheila told him of the damage thats been done to this lane and advised him to stay away ,so hopefully he will heed her advise.
judging by the damage they did it sounds like the viking way is in a simular condition to the videos taken last year.
This is a main walking route and i can only imagine what walkers will think when they come accross this mess and the damage to the reputation of 4x4 users.
