Don't laught at that:eek::lol I taught one of my friends how to off road in my truck, which I neva had as she didn't get stuck....I did:doh. Not often a 30 year old gets taught how to 4x4 by a 16 year old:lol:lol

Sounds like you're running big fans? Nice one mate:thumb2

After swapping the engine the only rad and fan I had available was from a small Rover and we had to keep the fan on full to stop overheating, hence the annoying noise, will be cured next time out, got a massive rad with two fans from the scrapie yesterday, Rick

Cool, didn't think it was annoying :). I've got a fan to stick on my t2 so it'll be making a similar noise:lol

Yes but your rad/fan will not be behind the seats like the off roader is, rad in normal position will be full of mud in no time, Rick

shes got more guts than me mate :thumb2

No Pete it is easier than you think, you just need to "think" it amazed us to find when going down hill, others will back off while we backed off as normal giving right of way to those coming UP, but it seems to me that they assume that you are like them and coming down hill you have no control, whereas we always have full control downhill and if necessary are able to stop and reverse, is this not the norm, Rick

i darent put myself into the position to find out mate , but well done :thumb2

road manners dictates that you give way to traffic coming uphill anyway , but not everyone believes in road manners :(

The downhill thing is one of the ultra dangerous things on PnP sites. I mean properly see only sky hills. Once committed to going up it that's it , no going back, unless messy. You should spot all hills though for the obvious reasons. Most roll overs happen after a failed hill climb and numpty driver freewheels it back down and flip flop ouch
I'll find you a classic youtube in a min.
Downhills are either short enough to drive them or even accelerate out of them but on monster steep slippy ones you have little control over gravity so treat hills with respect basically.

Wow. Wonder if he was alright!

Yep he was shaken and bruised with a dented pride . I've seen many roll overs in just that way. Also forward rolls where people jump on the brakes downhill

defo don't do this! no one even goes up there anymore! the guy is lucky 2 b alive. this is also y drumclogs gates get locked.

well maybe that but best not too :doh

there was a guy out at clog at end of may that got stuck, so he jumped out to push it leaving the engine running and in gear :doh, the landy decided it was gonna go a wander, so he ran n tried 2 jump in 2 hit the brakes :doh. at this point it had mounted a banking and toppled, trapping they guys head inbetween the door n frame  He had severe bruising and broken collar bones.

neva ever ever go out by yourself! this guy does comps n allsorts n it still happened.

thing is i have no idea how he got stuck where he did as I can get up n down that bit when my truck is standard :augie

Wow. Wonder if he was alright!

That is why I have a full banger roll cage in my motor, and full race 5 point belts, but not wanting to do what matey did in the vid, just as well he dropped the young lad off beforehand, it is as I said before, comes down to think about it first, evaluate the situation and only act on what you have established as a safe operation, I am not saying that a presumed safe operation cannot go wrong, it can but you need to be able to evaluate what may go wrong and have a get out strategy if needed, this sounds easy, it is not, suffice to say I have survived so far, makitfit great respect, Rick

The way i was taught years ago if you fail/stall a steep hill, foot brake on handbrake on.select reverse, engine off, then release the handbrake then slowley the foot brake, the motor should hold itself in gear, then turn the starter to a nice control decent.:thumbs

The first one is the reason for my power mods. Big steep hills suck up awesome amounts of power and those stock pajeros wont have it. So the result more and more lunatic speed. Result no control when your truck takes off over a little tussock :doh
Mine will go up that relatively slowly and so managable, but then I've got about 170 BHP and 35" mud tyres :naughty
