right update.....

the fan has now been reseated and the wobbling has died down abit. the bolt from the alternator tensioner had also sheered off so i have replaced that and all is ok.

thanks to rick for supplying the fan when i can get over and pick it up and hopefully that will solve all my issues with the engine wobble. the rad is not in the best of shape but that will survive another few months before i need to replace it.

this mav is as tough as a rock and even with all its niggles it keeps on going. the wales trip should be a hoot and 1000 miles in 3 days will really push it to its limit.

The one on the alternator. Just waiting to hear back from rick about the fan.

Many thanks to rick and his crew for sorting the fan out. Purrs like a kitten now and the wobble has gone. Fan came off in 20 mins and was back on our way in 40. If rick has a pic of the fan all will become clear. Nice to learn abit more about the engine and going to clean the maf as part of my self service.

Cheers to all for your help.

Pic of si's fan blades, or what is left of them, Rick
