hi lads a belated all the best, ive been grounded for the last few weeks. I spotted a renault traffic filter housing it looks like its electricaly heated can anyone confirm, i,m thinking of going veggie oh it was a 98 van thanks.

If you've got a TD (as opposed to a TDi) you've already got a heated filter. stick to 50/50 veg oil/diesel and you won't need to do anything.. I can recommend fitting really good glow plugs though.

Does the mistral td have this heated fuel filter aswell?

i just run my fantastic mistral on nothing but diesel , saves messing about ..... fuffin brilliant car innit ? :thumb2

thats news to me? why wouldn't the TDi have the same then?

For the OP, don't know about Renault but Pug diesel filters are definitely heated (all except the very early ones and prob very late ones as well).

I don't think mistrals have heated filters either, i agree with briggie i run my tdi on 100% deiesle with no worries except the price. SO i may end up dabling in veg oil yet.

The heated filter housing has wires sticking out at the top, I can't be more specific as i haven't looked at one in a long time.

you always have to make things easy don't you Plank....:doh :lol:lol:lol

But ditto on the need for this unless you want to use a high ratio in winter in which case its a good idea....you'll still get a lumpy start until warm juice starts flowing (ooh sorry, am I on the right site here???) but it saves fannying about with twin tanks, inline heaters drawing glowplug amps etc...
