Sorry to hear that Spudd ,in the past if its not to deep you can buy colour cut that also comes with a wax crayon in like a lipstic tube, you rub the crayon across the scratch to fill it. then rub in small circles the colour cut in,
found it worked for me when have been off road with brambles gouging the side of vehicle.
as for the hard man collect some dog mess and fill his car with it or his Parents car. Laurie.

I would go for getting your colour matched & put into the smallest tin & then with a thin brush fill the scratch with paint. Once it's level with the existing paint, spray some lacquer over it, once hardened, polish :thumbs

cover up, few feet of concrete usually works i'm told.

in mean time have modified thread title, it was a bit ott.

appreciate frustration but doesnt help fix the problem.

Might be worth checking your insurance policy as I paid out £625 to have my Mini repaired without going through the insurance it was three lots of vandalism over the last 18 months.

Just received my new Policy with Saga and now you can claim for vandalism with no loss of NCB!

If I was one of Raquel Welsh's triplets I would have been bottle fed. lol

They wont upset your NCB but will still put up your RISK factor as you've claimed.\Then you'll still get charged more and still have protected NCB.
If you see what I mean

any ideas on a cover up.

Well some of the ideas already posted are pretty good, but make sure you have an alibi.... :augie
It wasn't me officer I was at home at the time... :bow
I haven't told you when the incident happened yet.....

There is this sort of "Magic pen" advertised, its like a lacquer in a pen / brush, they sell some on ebay, but the reviews have mixed success.
I know when I have even tried to fill a scratch or stone chip, you can always see it's there.

Those wax crayons or coloured polishes partially work, but are not a permanent solution. You may have to do it again.

Just go off roading :D
You'll have so many scratches you'll not notice it anymore :lol

I agree, wife had an arguement with the wall at home, she only scratched the bumper, we thought no problems, we have protected no claims. :bow

1 Try changing your insurance supplier within 5 years of the incident, you have to go through it all again, and guess what, the premium is higher.

2 WORSE STILL, she is also a named driver on my Mav.... and guess what that premium went up too..

So we are still paying for THAT MISTAKE :doh
We should have gone to the man with a van, Chip master or something, and paid cash.

So much for protected NCB.
I wonder if the same applies if you are hit by a non insured driver, Direct Line started this, and now Churchill have it. :nenau

100% correct. It also hits you in the same way when you use these no cost if your comp windscreen chip repairs. They dont ask for an excess or hit the NCB but a claim on a policy is a claim.

Bunch of skanky ******

Good advice :thumb2

Ive done similar and I find once the paint is just about dry before the laquer goes on a quick gentle rub with scratch remover paste levels it off nicely and blends the edges.

That's what I need to do..:thumb2

With the lacquer, I have sprayed across a sheet of paper with a hole in the middle, keep the paper a few inches from the area, and this avoids overspray, and initial splats from the nozzel, as you start on the paper and move across, and finish on the paper.

Better than masking tape on small areas, as this leaves an edge.

Thin coats are better than 1 thick runny coat..

Halfords sell a paint kit for most metallic colours, has paint, laquer and a little pen thing to do the edges first.... never used one but might do the trick?..... As for insurance I am 16 months into a claim where someone (in his works van) damaged my car, which was parked in a designated parking zone on the road but conveniently 'forgot' to report it to his employer!!! Result is I am now having to go to the small claims court via a solicitor (all paid for by the personal cover policy I took out ...lucky me) to settle the claim or else my insurers say it is a 'my fault' accident as they cant get their money back for the repair from the other insurer :eek::eek:... feel like a criminal and am doing their bloody job for them! Looks like another 'company policy' on recovering losses? I wouldnt mind but the bloke has now admitted he did it but his insurers refuse to pay anyway as he didnt tell them :doh:doh

Guess it dont pay to 'fess' up if you have an accident as I seem to be the victim and still get treated like a criminal.. just had to give any dates in the next 6 months I cant go to court on :nenau
