Valve Clearance Gaps

Anyone know the valve clearance gaps for a 97 2.7TDi ?

Tip, the rockers could well be indented from the valve, to check back off the adjuster on a couple and move the push rod to one side, you can then press the push rod end of the rocker down and inspect the rocker face, if it is less than a smooth slight curve, then you cannot use feelers, the method then is screw down till no clearance then back off exactly quarter turn and lock the nut, Rick

Would bad clearance cause engine oil to be burnt off? I dont burn oil usually but when the terrano has been off for maybe a half hour then back on a get a large puff/cloud of smoke for a few seconds that smells like burnt oil. A d a tapping or ticking sound

With my Td rocker box, there are rubber "O" rings under the cover where the fixing bolts go through, don't loose them, and make sure they are in place or there will be leaking oil.
I learnt this when Ford did the first service :doh
They lost one...:doh
Also don't forget the steel rectangular ring that the bolts go through first, easy to forget...

Tbabk you. Had a look abd rocker box seems ok. Lots of oil about though. Maybe from air i take area? Oil dipstick showed no oil on it today and oil light was on and off. So have topped it up. Only changed it all 3 weeks ago.

No oil leaking from sump or filter.

if you changed oil 3 weeks ago no leaks and now no oil it must be burning it fast,that means valve stem seals or oil control rings or both.

Or turbo, or crankcase breather valve....

In my cars case, turbo, crankcase breather, and valve stem seals...
