Hi does anyone have any experience using sunflower oil / chip fat , for fuel, do you use it 50 / 50 or neat , which is the best to use , i have a 3ltr sve , does it damage your engine or not ,or do you put another filter in line , i would be most greatful for your coments

I've been using new veg oil from Costco (£18 for 20 litres) at about 60:40 oil to diesel since Feb and doing over 300 miles per week.
No problems yet for me.

I started by putting 10 litres of new oil in a full tank of diesel, just to see how it went and it was fine, so I upped the percentage.

Used oil is trickier to use than new oil - it has to be filtered very well and treated with some other chemicals.
I'm sticking to new oil and just wanging it in my tank.

Don't put chip fat in. It contains veg oil, fats, water and fatty acids. I use rapeseed to about 75% more when it gets warmer. Not sure on the 3.0L engine though.
If you want further reading on this google it there's plenty info about. David.

I use rapeseed or sunflower oil, sunflower is better when its warm I use about 50/50. Not sure about the

3.0l thought. Regards bri

A tip never use used oil! only clean new SVO :thumb2

Another tip, put your vehicle details in your signature so people can give a more 'targeted' answer :thumb2

Hi all, I have been using KTC pure veg oil, i think it's mainly soya for about 5yrs now, in the winter I mix it 50% with diesel, this week I went down to Devon and back with 100% KTC cooking oil, with no problems.
