Went to collect uvo from fleabay sale. Was asked for my carriers license( which I don't have)...told him I'd forgot it but when I returned with it I would want a vat invoice. He was not amused and declined. Didn't return or pay up.

Has anybody had similar when collecting used stuff or was he a " one off". David

was it large quantity like an ibc or just a few drums? he should have stated in listing he would need to see it. from my experience people just sell it for a bit of cash, not as a business. i buy it just for my own terrano and have never been asked for one and i dont have one.

I buy and collect 1000s of litres BIO and have never been asked for carriers license :D
Last time I went and got 2 IBCs in a van, and the time before took the trailer up and got 3 IBCs, no probs :thumbs

I am almost sure that you only need a carriers licence thinggy if you have over 250Kg of waste. ???

carriers license is for waste, so waste veg would be included thats why its not needed for bio as its not classed as waste

I have heard of this problem. I enquired about buying used oil in bulk and was told that i needed a carrier's licence because any company needs to prove where they are disposing their waste legally (not down the drain). The licence is about £40 for three years if i remember correctly which is nothing compared to the savings you make using oil.

i think its down to it's classed as waste, therefor you need a license for it to carry it

When we have waste removed from work we get a waste transfer notice. is this what he wants?

Regards

Alan
