I nearly filled the truck on Saturday for a journey to my Mums for a get together for her husbands birthday.
I thought the truck seems to be using a little more fuel than expected, but I put it down to the fact that I had extra weight in the back.
On the way back home, much lighter than going, I noticed little change with how quickly the needle was dropping.
I noticed a damp patch under the front of the truck on the drive...........
Turns out number four return pipe was weeping with a steady drip of around three second intervals with the engine running
I rang my local motor factors & to my surprise he has the nominal bore fuel hose I need & a little under £4.00 a metre.
For now I've just cut off the bad end that had gone & this has cured it.
Tomorrow I shall replace the whole piece with new.
I would dread to think how much fuel I've lost on a 230 mile round trip :doh

Bad luck bloke but at least you're on the case!!! :thumb2

Oh yes Zak. I nearly forgot.......
She's running very well on 75% veg :thumb2 :thumb2 :clap

I believe Clivvy replaced them a few years back, but like you say :thumb2 :thumb2

I shall do them all at the weekend weather permitting :thumb2

Good stuff, I did mine a while back because of the same thing, I replaced the length that goes back towards the pump too, it wasn't hard to get to and gave me piece of mind.

Did Clivvy run on veg oil?, I ask because mine started leaking shortly after I started using veg.

Good man!!!! I'm running 100% at the moment while the weather is fair, only running with the new Eckes heated filter at the moment, haven't got the heat exchanger plumbed in as I removed it as part of the diagnosis as to why I keep getting that damn EML light come one with code 21.

Keep an eye on my progress thread, I'm just about to re-seal a Bosch VE Injector Pump with new Viton seals that are veg proof :sly

Pump has come off a 1998 Terrano with 72,000 on the clock and had died of the old tin worm, have been reliably informed that it has only ever been run on pump diesel

I asked Clivvy & he said he never put any in. So I'm now wondering if the pipe may react to something in the veg oil :nenau

I will watch with interest :thumb2

If you're running veg oil you will need to replace the leak off pipes more often, I used to have to do mine about every 12 months so not to bad considering the saving you get from running on the gold stuff

Thank you for that.
I purchased 2 metres of pipe so I'll have enough for a couple of years :thumb2
