like a big boy on christmass eve lol..... i wanna play :lol:lol

of course they dont know when tomorrow its coming , and they estimate a couple of days fitting it and removing the old one because of other jobs in the garage etc , so i reckon by the weekend i will be on the road :thumb2:thumb2:clap:clap

with any luck, the gearbox will arrive early, and the garage wont have a back log of work to do before they start on Sally. Fingers crossed!

garage doesnt open untill 10am ..... should i ring them and ask how its going on ? :lol:lol:lol

I wouldn't, give them time to get organised. Ring at dinner time. 12-1ish..

Just go down there, sandwiches and flask.. taking pics so we can see every step of the way

i'd probably do that to be honest...but i take pics of everything, especially when the cars being worked on. I think its good for documentation and if you require any comeback over stuff.

on my Mazda forum, one of the lass's there, shes the same, if cars in garage, she goes down tehre with her camera, and photo's everything then reports back. its actually really useful stuff. for example, when she had her timing belt done etc, she photo'd the whole process, so now we all know whats involved, handy.

problem is i cant get to the garage untill our lass comes home and i can " borrow " her disco , and she wont be home untill around 6pm , but to be honest id rather leave them alone and let them get on with it , but the gearbox is coming /has come today ..... exciting innit ? :naughty:naughty

YEP. you working on the route youll take to see every one??

bad news

garage just rung and said they had found the reason for the gearbox failure , while removing the old knackered one , they noticed 2 pipes joined together , it seems that the car had no transmission oil cooler ,which just made the atf get hotter and hotter until it cooked the gearbox , they suspect that someone had replaced the radiator with a manual one , so now they are looking for a after market transmission oil cooler or a original one , another delay !

I have just spoke to the garage Pete, they have sourced a replacement ATF cooler and will be getting on with the job tomorrow :thumbs

thats a pity Briggie.. but at leat we got the funds to help you out still

so could still have it at the weekend !! im just not saying what weekend!!
