I've just replaced the shoes on the rear of my '96 T2 after just 6k miles since they were last renewed. The wear pattern is most unusual. There appears to be excessive wear and even disintegration of the friction surface, mostly on the inner side of each shoe. This is something I've never seen before and suggests to me that either my brakes have been mis-aligned or the quality of the friction material is poor.
I'll attempt to attach a couple of images.
Any suggestions as to how I might avoid this happening to my newly installed shoes?
