Was wondering how strong these trucks are underneath ? Do they have any OEM bash plates or is everything aftermarket ?

There are steering guards, sump guards & a transfer box/front prop guard as standard and of course the fuel tank too.Was wondering how strong these trucks are underneath ? Do they have any OEM bash plates or is everything aftermarket ?

There should be a standard guard at the front - never felt the need for anything else nor have I heard of anyone damaging anything. There are guards available but need importing and they're not cheap.
Thats assuming you mean Terrano/Maverick? Put your truck details in your signature, will save you saying what your asking about in future.
I was curious about this as well.
Do people mean stuff like this - http://www.tbruk.com/contents/media/29-508055_g.jpg - from TBRUK?
I've got an Asfir on my Navara and they are bloody brilliant, wouldn't go offroading without one now, and the dinks and scrapes that are in it and not the truck are well scarey
PS. Navara and Terrano are the same skidplate, it covers all the front sump, diff, gearbox and tranfer box

Its taken a bit of digging but Bensonsnuts has a Patrol - so he'd best ignore the above.
Added the info now , but I thought posting in the Y61 tech forum would be a clue :augie
so same one will fit any T2 then? that what your saying?

Hiya
I've done 22000 km's off road with my wife over in Queensland, Australia. Encompassing the Telegraph line, Cape Tribulation, a trip out to Weipa and a lot more "walkabout" ... never did we require or think of requiring extra under body protection.
Suffice to say if you are not sure of a route ahead, get out and walk it... underbody aftermarket protection should not be needed.
