which leads me to believe it maybe the No1 injector with the ecu retarding the timing which will create excessive heat in the exhaust.

The underfuelling would def cause the excess heat but could be caused by multiple other components

Right been playing with stuff over the last few days and it seems when the engine is cold or when on the flat it now seems to pull ok now ive got the primer pump to stay hard,but was only able to do this by bleeding from the injectors them self.However now ive noticed i get a bit of a hissing sound when undoing the fuel cap.Did try to run it off a separate fuel supply it made no real difference when driving it.Now im starting to think maybe ive got either a injector or pump issue but ive plugged it up to the laptop and im still getting no error codes.Temp gauge is still going up if the revs are over 2400rpm and held there say going up hill even without towing but not sure if these issues are linked or not.

Excess fueling would increase engine temps.
Is there any possibility you are burning a bit of engine oil under load?
Could it be leaking past turbo bearings?

Dont seem to be loosing engine oil,however on the 2 rubbers on the intercooler its weeping oil.Had a chat with R1cho on this and checked and cleaned the bypass valve(if thats what its called)and seems to be working as if i block the holes up and suck on it(no punns plz lol) i can hear it working.But have noticed the past week ive been using more fuel than normal

Dependent on the mileage you do, with 7 or 8 liters in the sump you may not notice any significant drop, but it would not take a huge amount to add considerably to the fueling.
The fact that the IC hoses are showing oil suggests that there is an amount of it getting into the combustion process........somehow.
Your quoted miss fire at around 2000 RPM is about when the turbo starts to start spooling up too.

Never done one myself but am macanicaly mined so if so id be up for doing it just like to know for sure if it is or not before i do the job.I'll remove the glow plugs in the morning to see if there are any signs of oil or not as well

Simple to do, I'd remove to inlet coupling to the turbo to expose the impeller and check the spindle for any abnormal play or movement, side to side and up and down.
Difficult to quantify, but there really should not much free movement at all.
Also check for signs of engine oil in there too!

Right back on it again today and this i what ive found.I removed the pipe from the turbo and did find a very small amount of oil in there but to be it seems like what id called old oil,not sure if this is where i cleaned that bypass valve out and it was what was left from it since and that end of the rubber pipe had traces of oil as well.I looked at the turbo and did find play in the up and down of it but nothing in and out and does make a bit of a what id call metal to metal noise but did read here that to have a small amount of movement is normal as the oil takes that up(please correct me if im wrong on that).Also removed the glow plugs and noticed that they have soft soot on them.I know thats not normal but unsure what that would mean.As with the over heating side i think that maybe a separate issue noticed the lower hose was cold so what i did was removed the thermostat and re-ran the truck but noticed it took 2ltrs of water to refill it and now the temp gauge doesnt even move so ill replace that and see how that one goes as i didnt think it was that as it was replaced 3 months ago

Well after a good 100 blast rechecked it all and i cant see any traces of oil coming frm the turbo so pretty sure it was to do with the bypass valve that was sending oil to places it shouldn't be.But still baffled about the sooty glow plugs.Have looked about and does relate to fuelling issues but not sure what that would be.So next i may have to take it into a garage to get it looked at as still is down on power but no engine codes,so can anyone recommend anywhere or someone in the bristol area

Only found that out yesterday.What it was i was just triple checking everything and as the inter-cooler was removed i thought i whip them out just to see what they where like as i know with spark plugs they can give you an idea to what maybe wrong with the colouring ect and didn't know if id get any idea from looking at them to there condition despite them only being replaced in march

OK if glow plugs are sooty then they are not working, but if it starts OK then they must be working, so comes down to pump over fueling for some reason, looks like a Nissan visit to establish why, Rick

Carers allowance wont stretch to a visit to nissan so i need to find another way or just sell it on

I haven't read back but has anyone suggested blocking the egr? Rather than the fuel pump over fueling it could be a poor burn due to dirty air, mine was low on power and would bog down and just smoke at junctions but since blocking the egr it's a whole lot better.

Right this bloke who i think knows jack all had a look at it and was saying it was the number one injector at fault despite no code.Anyway he left so i had a look and what i done was disconnect the wire to it and see what happens.Started like a pig and didnt run right at all so im pretty sure its not that.However what i noticed is that when it was unplugged the check light came on which i know is right,however the ABS light came on as well which to me i think is not right.Can anyone please confirm this if it should happen or not as to me it shouldn't :nenau

OK so you have proven the no1 injector, but ABS light coming on? should not be, could of course be coincidence, but could also be a bad earth, and the bad earth was getting its earth from the injector, which you had unplugged, when you plugged it back in did the ABS light go out? think rayf is the man for this one, Rick

Once i plugged the sensor back in within 1 min both lights went out,however i unplugged the maf as well and that put both lights on as well and once reconnected they went out........plot thickens

No not really, defo a bad earth problem, something similar to loss of earth at rear lights, put indicator on and brake lights flash although dim, comprendo, again rayf will probably be able to tell you the area to look, Rick
