Quote from the user manual page 4-16:
"From 2H to 4L
1. STOP the vehicle.
2. Depress the Clutch (on AUTOMATIC transmission models, move the transmission selector to the N position).
3 Depress the transfer lever and move it to 4L. Change gears quickly and smoothly (on automatic transmission models, move the selector lever quickly and smoothly without stopping at N position)."

Like most things in life..
If you don't use it you loose it..
When was the last time you tried it and it worked? :nenau
It might just be operator error. :doh MAKE SURE YOU ARE STATIONARY.

Tried my 4 wheel drive low approaching a steep downhill ice covered road across Cannock Chase this afternoon. I just love the control, feet off everything, and let the mav do the work, great...

I exercise it together with the auto hubs every 3-4 months.

We went to see the wild deer, and encountered over a dozen herds of 10 or more, in about an hour. :clap:clap
Been past it a few times myself, without the rifle, unfortunately. Deer are almost tame and regularly sit about 30-40 yards from the road.

Since you have an Auto, selecting park, locks the transmission. BUT if your transfer box is similar to the manuals, then selecting neutral in the transfer box will disconnect the drive to the Auto box. So it is free to roll.

Is there some interlock that prevents you selecting Neutral when in park and no handbrake on, as I would see this as a cause of concern, BUT you have to make quite an effort to select Neutral, not something that would happen by accident, not easily caught by a stray foot. :naughty

nope once in neutral in an auto its the same as being in neutral in a manual so is able to be pushed forward and backwards :thumbs

thats y you still have a handbrake in a auto:thumbs

Just to let everyone know panic over, got into my truck when my mate got back and it went straight into 4L. possible frozen linkage as did'nt want to push down.:bow
