im soon going to need a couple of new tyres for the terra, i like the chunky look but dont do any serious offroading so dont need to be too off road biased, im also a big fan of cheap:naughty at the moment im running kinpin remoulds(215 R 15) which are pretty average but any advice is appreciated,
thanks vince

erm, why only 2 :nenau You should match up at least .

Chunky look ? Spacers cost as much as a good tyre , so I'dbe looking at a set of A/Ts maybe in the 245 range :thumbs

I replaced them in pairs last time as i couldnt afford to buy four when the rears still had good tread, so hence my fronts are in need of replacing but my rears are still fine. the current sizes are 215/80 15 i think, tyre wall says 215R15 but im sure theyr 80 cross section. when i wrote "chunky look" i meant the tread pattern, i dont realy want to put spacers on yet, just need tyres at mo to keep her legal.

Runway enduro

I have Runways on my r3mR 2.7 TDi and they have been on for 4 years now and still have plenty of tread. They have done 33,000 miles and I reckon they will do another year at least. Tarmac use only with lots of mileage in AWD mode.

+1 for the Enduro Runway A/Ts

I'm on General Grabber A/Ts on the Troll, but if I was buying on a budget I'd go for the Runways. Had them on my Shogun and they did a good job on and off road :thumb2

thats brill thanks, il look into some. also...... im currently running 215s, whats the widest i can go on my rims? i know there are loads of different wheels fitted to terranos but surely theyre all the same size?? for some reason i think mine are a 6.5j???

iv just checked on a tyre calculator and if i change my 215 15s to 235 15s theyl actualy be 1/2 an inch lower, my speedo will be out by about o.7% which is negligable so not fussed about that BUT CAN I RUN THEM??????

I am running 235's on my 15" rims. But that's what was on it when I bought it so I replaced like for like.

Surely 235 will fit on the same size rims as 215's, I am sure I read online somewhere you could go up/down two tyre sizes.

i did wonder what you were on about:lol, the overall height isnt a problem its wether or not the 235s will fit on my rims. iv looked at my book and the 2.7t has 6" rims and 215 tyres so i think the td must have 6.5 or 7" rims hence the 235 tyres. i just need to get a definative answer before i order them.

Message Fwd from Spuds Deep ( who's too tight to pay up his tenner but loves you anyway) :thumb2
"yes that tyre will fit on those rims that's what were on new truck before i bunged the 33's on and they were on the same rims"
