I know this has been done to death but i cant find anything which will tell me what size tyre i can put on a standard t2 16" rim without having to cutaway bits.

Can anyone help?

I got 7.50 x 16s on the off road motor, only hits rear wheel arches cos got no bump stops on rear, or front for that matter, but makeitfit is your man, Rick

or stinka, or fez, or???? got a terrible memory, Rick

I was always going as big as possible, never tried NOT cutting the truck :lol
Stinky is right though :thumbs

265 75 16 require mudflaps off, some trimming and hammering to front and MUDs are a right squeeze

If u went with 265 70 16 MUDs you'd prolly have to take your mudflaps off, but at tyres are fine from others previous experience

Cheers not sure wether to go for at or mud.

Had mud previously but only drove locally now can do alot of miles a week. But drove off road both ends

What to do?

so just to make sure if i went 265 70 16 at then i can keep the front mudflaps and rear r ok as well nothing needs modding

Id get A/T unless you are doing loads of heavy mud regularly

I did very well in mud on road pattern tyres when I first got my truck

Unless u are using fedima/simex then there's not much difference with MUDs than at's as they just clogg making them as good as slicks

Im running 265/75/16 AT's and as said had to trim the front bumper and remove the mud flaps. You also get rubbing on full lock on the steering. Not to much of a problem, but anoying at times.

Looking at some 33's for the new truck when i start work on her, but lots to do yet and not starting till after the snow has been and gone. She also looks like getting a 2.5" body lift and a 2" suspension lift as well.

I went with bigger offset wheels from an import hilux 7x15 and 31"/10.5/15 cooper stt's

If you don't go for a bigger negative offset ( -15 iirc ) then as Kamsin says you will get rubbing on steering

also if your so close to rubbing you need to remove the flaps the wheel will probably still rub the inside arch when turning hitting bumps etc off the road.
