I run most of my miles on good roads and do lots of driving on the fast autobahns in Germany and Austria. I occasionally do a little bit on lane sin Derbyshire and sometimes have to go completely off-road.

I've mostly used Pirelli Scorpions, though I did try a set of Yokahamas (which were crap).
I have a good set of chains for the bad weather and have used them quite a bit recently.

I'm now ready for a new set now and I was wondering if I should go for a new set of Pirellis or whether there is something else I should have a look at?

The new Yokohama GO12 are very good have excellent reviews and sound right up your street. We have tried them and go off road daily with good results.

general grabber at2.

like bfg at for 2/3s cost, frankly tougher too.

best at on market, almost a mudder but good
road manners.

I have just fitter general grabber at2s on my motor and i have to say i am very impressed , on road they are fantastic no noise etc , in these parts we have a fair amount of snow and the wheels are eating it up no problems what so ever .

If its mostly road use, I'd stick with the Scorpions - they used to be factory fitment on new trucks but were abandoned because of cost, but I always found them really hard wearing.

best bet is get a cheap set of 15" wheels and offroad tyres for messing around.

Thanks for all the input. :thumb2

After careful consideration of the options, and the bank balance, I've decided to go with the Pirelli Scorpion STR. I like the idea of a set of cheap wheels and off-road tyres. Only trouble is where to keep them, I've got so much other stuff in the shed and garage....

I've booked the Kwikfit Mobile fitting service, who are coming to my house on Wednesday morning, so I don't even have to go out. :clap

The Pirellis were the most cost-effective at £78 each.

Total cost £375.88 (and that includes the mobile service, at £20 it's a bargain)

That sounds a good price per corner!!! :clap

I'd bet if you'd asked for a couple of 50/50 tyres they'd have wanted twice the price with the high demand at the mo! :lol :lol
