Any body got a tyre recutter?:D
I'd like to experiment with some tyre mods:naughty

I have not seen one of those for 30 years, not legal now so gonna be hard to find I guess, in working order anyway, even when new they were problematic with poor connections to the blade, very low voltage reasonable amps from what I remember, Rick

I've been looking on fleabay and they're out there for about 200 squid too much:lol
Adz had a go on one recently, I'll ask him:thumbs

Not illegal, used in rallying regularly and contrary to popular opinion rally cars have to be completely road legal as they use the public road as link sections.

It is illegal to cut a deeper groove then those moulded in as standard and I believe it is only legal to cut (groove) new tyres (tough that would be almost impossible to prove either way of course). For instance a moulded (road legal) slick may be cut to a more intermediate style or a inter to a wet or a wet may be cut further for extreme rain conditions. Gravel tyres too have the grooves widened for softer less grippy conditions etc. I have some cut forest tyres on the back of my car at the moment as it happens.

Tyre cutter's are totally legall as said above. Lorry tyres are made from manufacture to be re-cut once then thrown away.
If your gonna play with the tyres they can only be used off road as the rubber isn't deep enough on car / 4x4 tyres. Rally & Track tyres are made thicker for cutting.
I'll post a pic of the 1 i've been playing with later ;-)
