hi all

just been under the bonnet for the first time in ages and noticed the pipe running over the rocker cover that says turbo on it is leaking a fair bit of oil. the black rubber pipes at either end of the pipe with turbo written on have always been oily but now it seems a lot worse and dripping down. i checked the oil level and its barely showing on the dipstick.
gonna change the oil filter and fill the oil up. anyone got any advice on what i should do sort out the leak.
cheers

Clean everything, find the leak, replace the parts that are leaking (says the man who's been trying to find his oil leak for 3 months)

Sounds to me like turbo seals gone shouldnt really be any oil in that pipe

can the oil seals be replaced?
what is the metal block between the rubber pipes with turbo written on it for and can i just undo the jubilee clips to take it off and clean it up

Its just a bit of pipe just take off and clean. You can buy kit to overhall the turbo though i dont think its straightforward never done one myself.I would take off the manifold on the turbo and see if there is any endfloat in the turbo shaft if there is it will need rebuild/replacement

gonna change oil filter in the morn so while the spanners are out i'll clean the pipework and remove the manifold and have a look at the turbo :(

not had chance to get the pipe work off this morn but took a few pics

the oil is worse than the picture shows

had a look and cant see no oil leaking around the turbo just from the pipe pictured

the turbo blows air through that pipe, if the turbo's internal seals are gone it'll be blowing oil too. Clean it all up and refit it, it'll probably be ok for a bit then start leaking again when the oil builds up

The only way oil can get there is from the turbo as far as im aware, the pipe is just for the air to get to the inlet manifold from it.
If the truck is running ok, leave it alone :lol.
I had to wash my IC out when i took it off due to oil being inside of it.
With a little bit of messing and a new bonnet, you could fit an IC on there as well.

(IC= Intercooler)

the turbo's are a different shape, although I know some on here have done it.

Truck seems to be runnin ok so I'll clean it up and forget about it.
Thanks for the replies guys:thumbs

Doesn't the rocker cover breather go into the feed to the turbo, could oil be getting in from there?

Didn't a member put an oil catcher in this line?

What oil are you using? Could it be misting and then being sucked through the turbo?:nenau
