Having a few problems with my t2. Since today, the engine has been spraying oil over the engine bay at the LHS. There is oil over the rocker coverAND heater pipes. I took the cast iron pipe off that's on the top of the engine and all that was full of oil. Not sure what the problem is. It's not the rocker gasket as that was replaced just over a year ago. Any ideas? It still runs and drives fine :bow

Breathers blocked. There will be a crankcase breather probably full of shite.

Not sure on this motor mate, but its more likely to be your rocker breather thinking about it. Crankcase pressurises and the pressure goes from the crankcase up to the top end by way of breather then out of the rocker cover back into intake by another breather. If the rocker breather is blocked then the pressure will force oil out of the rocker gasket and oil filler cap etc

Failing this, it could be the turbo oil pipe Perhaps

Right, ok, I'll have a good look tomorrow to see what's what. I've got a cd rom for the 2.7 td so it'll probably tell me about them. I hope:bow

Just had a look under bonnet, in front of intake belows by front left corner of inter cooler is a small verticle canister about 3" long, it has pipes coming from it to intake, rocker cover and crankcase.

Get this off and all 1" diameter pipes connected to it, clean it out with a screwdriver and degreaser etc or soak in petrol etc etc, also remove rocker cover and clean out where pipe connects etc, also make sure where crankcase breather connects is clear ( if that's blocked force it thru and rod it out etc, change oil after )

This should sort it

I'm in agreement, mine was chucking out a small amount of oil a while back. I removed it, cleaned it, refitted and tightened (properly) and its been clean since....
