Is it the TUNIT II that fits ours?

Surely the boost will be the same as theres no boost control on the ECU anyway. The TUNIT box is just adding more fuel and probably at a different time too.

The inline boxes only mask the feedback circuit to the ecu from the pump. i.e. ecu asks for fuel setting 10 , pump moves to 10, but with the box in place the ecu only sees 7, so it opens pump abit more. Voila more power.

The tuning boxes do not alter pump timing, which we do really need to do. (start injecting fuel earlier to give chance for more of it to burn - which is why i asked about smoke on and off boost.

There is no ECU intervention of the turbo at all no, but the standard mapping does do strange things with the level of boost the turbo gives under some curcumstances, even with an inline-tuning box (like the tunit), which is why I went to a programmable ECU to have full control, not a fattened mimic of the stock map.

Ay, trouble is I cant remap my ECU as it's one the early ones:dohtypical.
So gone for the next best thing as far as I can tell:augie
By the time I get some LPG in it , that should extend the burn I hope and so negate the timing change.
Does that make sense to you Timbo?

If you are already using all the oxygen to burn the additional diesel supplied by the TUNIT box - will there be any left to burn the LPG - or rather, I suspect you'll have to turn the TUNIT box back down wen you add LPG or you're going to get a lot of unburnt diesel and smoke to go with it.

Yep the tunit needs re-tweeking with every mod.
I have it on good authority it'll be a beast when done:sly
Mr Gas has done a london taxi or two and worked on the spark plug conversions on them too:D
He's done a turbo deisel Pajero and that was bonkers:sly
I spoke to tunit about it too before buying and was told with no worries the box will do what I need.
I'm keeping the charge temp down with fan on thermo switch , so should keep as much oxygen in as poss.
I can also see me supercharging the thing too, easyish with the raised air format I'm on:naughty

In that case Steve, I'd be tempted to ring Tunit and ask them for a photocopy, they are really helpful - offer to send them a couple of quid for their trouble and they'll probably refuse it.

Reason is the instructions for the later ECU (which has 10-20 more connections than the old one) that they normally issue are wrong....I had to phone and check when mine didn't work and they corrected it for me over the phone....trouble is I was so excited I forgot to write it down I think!

So tell them you saw it discussed on here as they know us, and don't forget to say that you know the instructions are wrong for the later ECU - but you need to check which ECU you've got when you finally exhume it (its a royal pain but on yours you need to remove the entire front console as its hidden above and behind the bottom cubby hole ....

I take it you have the connector as well?
