Help, I am trying to source a female 14 pin data link connector (diagnostic plug) so i can make an adapter to connect a consult 2 to my 16 pin connector in my terrano. It is proving difficult for me to find one anywhere so if anyone could point me in the right direction i would be very grateful.

go to a scrap yard and look in to an old terrano or mavrick round 96 - 98 where ur 16pin plug u will find a 14pin gray plug cut it out of wiring loom and put it in ur pocket:augie:thumbs

Ah the good old days of wondering around scrap yards, unfortunately they dont let you in any of the ones up here anymore you dont get any further than the counter. Bloody elf and safety.:augie

well i that case it might cost u £5 -£10 just ask them to cut it out for u:thumbs

Result - Visit local scrappers and explained what i was after, scrapper said go have a look around the yard, found the connector i was after in a Nissan micra. After a bit of a spider man impression (micra on top of another car) i got the connector complete with about 7 inches of wires. Best of all when i took it back to the owner he let me have it for free.

I wet to a scrap yard yesterday, on reporting to the office I was instructed to wear a high viz coat and a hard hat, (that kept falling of cos the strap was broke) deposited my scrap in the bin and went back to the motor to put it back on the bridge, opened the door and my dog attached me, she did not recognise a guy in a hat and jacket, so much for health and safety, why was this new regime enforced, well a little while ago a guy on the site got into the big machine that makes cubes of stripped motors, for whatever reason, and while he was in there another guy comes along and starts the machine, result said guy losses two legs and is trapped for hours till some one can figure out how to reverse the machine, I say no more, Rick
