Im going to formula4x4 tomorrow for a pair of fronts. They are recommending "coopers" as a both on road and off combination £50 each??? What do people think???

this topic has been moved as it was in the wrong forum ern1e

That sounds a good price to me & i've heard their surposed to be good off road & on it  You may notice a bit more road noise from them, as I found out when I changed to AT's from them horid Duellers I had on.

I have scorpions on the back and ive found those very hard wearing but i can get 2 coopers for the price of one scorpion.

What are you running on now ??

luv scorpions but hate price like u say i went to bfgoodrich longtrail after they were equal to scorpions

I've got Falken AT's (£66 a corner) all round & love them 8) They are miles better than the Duellers on road & seem fine off road. They seem to be wearing very well compaired to my tyres on the hot hatches I used to have as I used to go through 1-2 sets on the front in a year

They do longtrails for £75.

Dont suppose there is any discount if I mention the club? worth a try

You should get a discount with them if you mention your a club member  It state in the down load you can get 10% on most things  Must remember to put my order in

I think you have to also show your membership card with them as people have gone in there saying they are members and there not.

longtrails equal to scorpions very good tyre i loved em i realy used to hammer the mav about on em! got two on front navara (i bought set eightbf goodrich tyres had two left so why waste em) duelers on back as its not got to be off road and lots road work at mo it came with general grabber at2s but tore tread blocks out back ones i was suprised at big chunky tyres on road manners though

My membership is with me at all times, so i shall flash it with pride!!

To be honest I love the tread pattern and the tough look of scorpions so ill go and look at them to which takes my fancy.

Had Falkens on an Escort XR once very good grip.

I do like the look of the Yoko Geolander.

Which Geo-lander you been looking at I've got Yoko Geolander MT+s which are the very similar to Machos (Machos are a copy of the yoko tyre) only I believe they are no longer available wich is a shame as they have very good road manners for a serious muf tyre.

Geolander GO12 AT at £72 each, They look well tough.

Have a look on there website. See what you think??

Can't find the GO12 on the Yoko website but the MT+s are HERE

EDIT

Ah found em on formula4x4 site HERE

EDIT AGAIN

Or better still, both on one page HERE

They're really good off road but whilst they are good for an MT they're not a road tyre. I only use my truck for playing and the occasional local trip so I can manage with them but rally they're noisy and I imagine tyre life would be quite short if used on the road for 1000s of miles, though they're wearing well and I've done a good few miles getting to green laning trips, I'll have to dig the last MOT out and see how much I've done on em.

I've just seen on the YOKO site that they are available in 33" and 35" - now thats got me thinking.

I run Cooper discovery sports all round on the Mav, as a general tyre they are fantastic. Really good road manners and very quiet. Good enough off road for odd green lane day or similar.

Hi I run on Cooper Discoverer AST 235 75 R 15 bought from Formula 4x4 and personally I don't like them. They seem to pick up at the front end when braking hard. ( they did this before I fitted the rossini discs. I am due to buy new ones for the rear and I may look at the Cooper sport if they run with the same diameter, as per cameraman..
The road noise does increase with these AST tyres.
I have not used them off road but they have been ok in the snow.

Well I have returned and very surprisingly I have bought what I went for, as they have lots of shiny bits and great wheel and tyre packages, so two tyres it was.....cooper discoverer AST. Pleased with them so far came back up the motorway and where quiet so no complaints yet!!!

Well no more noise than the old ones!!
