This project truck is being a pain in the bum,

Needed a new track rod, so ordered a new one from milners no problem. So. Starts taking the old one off and nuts rusted and pins rotted and broke. Out comes mr grinder and cuts the nuts off no problem. Trouble is the remaining stub that goes through the hub and end of the drag link just will not pull through to release the track rod.
I've tried hammers, heat and alsorts but it wont budge. Even tried a trolley jack but it just started lifting the suspension.

Not a decent one. My sons have both suggested that the ball joints might have been screwed into their holes but I know that isn't true but I can understand their thinking. For the moment I just keep spraying with plus gas.

Have you hit the outer bit like in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDsci-izhhc

I had trouble with mine and my mechanic mate smashed it proper hard like above and got them out.

Other method is to put a hammer on one side and smash the **** out of the other side with another hammer.

Ding dong, i love ear defenders!

Done it, cheers Fez. Took a lot of hammering though a lot more than the video says. No room to stick a hammer at each side and on the drag link end there was only enough room to hit one part.

Cheers
