Hi all,
I plan to replace the steering relay bar (the one between the steering box and idler arm) in the near future as the attached ball joints are worn and figure that I should probably replace the track rod ends while I'm at it.
As I would like to order the replacements before removing the existing ones, I wanted to ask for a bit of advice before sourcing the parts.
Firstly, what are the differences between the inner and outer ends? I noticed on Milner's web site that they only refer to L/H or R/H threaded track rod ends. Can I assume that I need one L/H and one R/H threaded end for each side of the vehicle? If so, which thread is used in each position?
I've also had a look on Ebay and some sellers suggest that a given track rod can be interchanged for the opposite end on the opposite side of the vehicle - e.g. the left hand inner used as right hand outer etc. (such as this listing) while others suggest that they can only be used in a specific position (e.g. outer left as per this listing).
Can anyone shed any light on this before I get a closer look at the T2 over the weekend?
Thanks.....
