Towing mirrors should be in addition to the existing mirrors so suck it and see are technically illegal . in reallity the chances of getting nicked is remote as the police cant be bothered but it might be a good get out for an insurance company if an accident claim was put in.Pre 2010 cars (I think) only need one on the drivers side

The best mirors on the market IMHO are milenco aeros , good vision and little if nil shake but at £20ish each not cheep.

well said on all counts :clap

The best bet for towing mirrors (so I'm told) is to obscure your original ,mirror completely

I reckon someones having you on :D tell your advisor to have a look at the multiple mirrors on hgvs and buses, they aint there for the driver to admire themselves :thumb2

whichever way you look into them, unless your doing the pogo you aren't going to see much in a towing mirror :lol But at £20 each it's not that expensive in the big scheme of things.

i have a set of milenco grand aero`s they fit spot on the T2 as said £40 is not going to break the bank and looked after they should last.
followed a few on ebay but they go for nearly new money so not worth the hassle infact will be bolting them on for the Griswolds road trip to Somerset setting off early saturday morning:clap

and a new towing mirror question - convex? flat? or one of each? :nenau

cant see cctv being enough as wont tell you whats going on to side of trailer.

suck its suck, and can damage the motor mount on well motorised mirrors.

I have some average strap ons oh-er, where the mirror is on a rod and can
reach out that bit further, handy on a narrow t2.

personally never found mirrors that give me the same view of the sides of
the trailer, not just a triangular blind spot, then as compared to mirrors
on the buses i used to drive which were much bigger glass area and really
could see everything.

i did have some of those wing mounted jobs but slower set up and read
are illegal as unable to set up from in car.

have a curved mirror convex? on nearside and regular on off side.

logic being the curved glass will work better on left hand corners...

I have a plan!

I am a firm critic of towing mirrors so I am going to try a few sets over the next few weeks on my T2 and stop when i find some that work.

I have already tried a few so I wont be trying them again, but I aim to try Grand Aeros first - first flat and then concave. Odd they come in pairs both conc or flat :nenau

If they do what it says on the box i will be pleasantly surprised.

got a brand new pair of rock steady ones today, lets see if they do 'exactly what it says on the box' . Bryancapri - have you tried yours yet?
