Just towed a one owner 1977 Land Rover with 36,500 genuine miles on the clock about 160 miles on an Ifor Williams three axle trailer. Did all the usual checking of straps etc. during the trip ,only to find when we arrived back that the hitch where it connects to the Y on the trailer had two loose bolts:eek: Never copped it while checking the straps, probably due to the weight of Landy on the trailer. Lesson learned,THOROUGHLY check trailer BEFORE loading. Dread to think what might have happened had it come loose. On the plus side,T2 behaved very well and and we had no problems, other than the loose bolts. I will think twice before borrowing a trailer in the future.:(

kin hell! lucky man!

who's the Landy for then? :D

For a mate,he has a thing about Landys since he was a nipper. It needs a little work but it is low tax,low insurance due to age and will not be in daily use.

sounds an excellent buy - Extreme will be jealous, he's been round my house all afternoon surfing ebay for cheap Landys!:augie

Shame about the arse-end, but not that big a deal - the front end looks great!

Just needs the crossmember, the door is just taken off. Used to be a recovery vehicle for a garage and I believe the crane is available. Current owner might try to get that also but won't be using it,just be nice to have the original kit.

looks as if you live by the sea aswell liam, lucky devil, landy looks good and a nice plate.:clap:thumbs

Unfortunately,I don't live near the sea but the Landy was owned by a friend who is about 25yards from the sea. This Landy was bought by another mate,I only got the job of towing it home for him, because he only has a Disco and naturally the T2 is better for pulling:D Had a good time there, though. Bit of shooting, bit of drinking, bit of story telling, bit of lady tourist watching;) Connemara is beautiful when the sun shines but can drive you to drink when it is raining. Still well worthwhile visiting, especially if you like sparsly populated areas.
