What do you want a ball and pin socket for? I use one occasionally for shifting cattle trailers or tractor/plant trailers.... but for the caravan always stick the 'standard' type hitch back on!!!
Somehow I just trust a 'normal' hitch more with my 'van on the back! :nenau
If your towing your 'van and want a pin type one I'd invest in one of them which still has the standard ball, then the pin seperate, bit like this
