I have had the suspension on the Nissan Patrol raised by 2". I also have larger wheels. The consequence is the tow bar being to high to tow the new caravan. Is there a straightforward fix.

how old is truck,

there are regs ec94/20 relating to what can be done to a towbar,

regs apply to s reg onwards, must drop plates are illegal !

lifting trailer may not be so daft after all.

Depending on the towbar type the flange can be removed and flipped 180 degrees to get the towball lower. Have a look at my project thread and it might be in there - if not there's a separate post somewhere!

I like the offroad caravan idea though :D

that caravan is superb, suspect trick is for it run same rim n tyre as truck.

looks Oz, seen some guys drag an off road twin axle tin tent across the
outback.

have seen in past where folks with road going monster trucks and commercials
have put spacers between a frame and the hitch assembly to reduce amount
of drop plate on the truck, though with older vehicles american style receiver
drop plates can be used then swapped to higher plates for off road recovery.
