anyone knows how to to do the grey plug or fancy doing it for me(i hate electrics)

so where do take the feeds from?

i would run one headvy duty, fused cable down from battery under carpets
and door sill trims.

then split that into every thing, depending on age of caravan you might
not need a split charge, as newer caravans just take the live pin 4 and
deal with charge in charger. then just the fridge.

i'd help you mate, did my t2, and corrected most of bodge on patrol.

often thought about an isolater in the back of car, guess if had a switch
before split this main feed. just to protect the 12s from damage and
water off road.

that said if was starting over would mount them under spare in the step
bumper area.

I guess you caravan guys just trickle your van battery from the car and fully charge it from land power, is that correct, cos if you want to fully charge your van bat from the car you will need welding size cable to combat the volt drop, Rick

Now if I was doing it, I would have an inverter in the car and a 4 stage charger in the van, with a 240v lead joining the two, that way I would end up with FULLY charged bats after a reasonable run (15.2 volts) any disadvantage in that? Rick

12s thats a differnt story
apparently i need a ignition fed live for the split charging relay to work sounds like didnt find that out till i put all the trim backafter running the permenent live.
so now i have to run another blooming lead where is the best place to pick a feed up from or by chance is there a feed i can use at the back

mine was done using the accessory power point in back of truck (cigarette lighter fitting) not sure if fitted to all models , this would then give you a switched live , nd no need to take trim and carpets up.

have you got a pin colour layout chart you could scan and post up here,

Ive got to mover my socets some time before i go ove the plains next time. they get pulled off next time, as i keep having to bend them back into shape, so best to move before they brake up

i fitted a new split charger thats sensor the car running i.e 14v+ then surplys 12v to the 12s socket so u dont need to find a live when ign on just stright to the battery with a fuse like this one http://www.towsure.com/product/2973-Self-Switching_Combination_Relay_Wiring_Kit

i've used smartcom relays a few times, for second batteries they are very good and a decent price. But don't connect them wrong or the transistors go pop instantly. So make sure you get it right first time. it's easy enough unless your daft like me.
