ocelot
terranosaurus
extreme-4x4
daved
Thomas-the-Terrano2
nellie
Adz
iandouglas

& the list grows.!

Sorry if I've missed anybody out but it could be a BIG list  :doh :thumbs

well i must say this whole thing has put me off a little and i am not sure i will be going again, don't get me wrong it was a great day but this was the first time i have done this and i think things could have been explained to me, like when they did go off piste at pindale i had no idea they were actually off piste, there were no signs around to say what they were doing was actually wrong but surely the group leader knew and should have said something to either them or just to me to let me know they wasn't actually supposed to be doing it. its a shame really becuase like i said it was a fun day i'm just not sure it's worth all this bother.

Karl, oh kar.l rflmao

I am not going to bother pulling your post to bits, it would be far too easy and anyway the way you miss the point and the attitude expressed backs up my argument completely. Thank you.

One example that demostrates that perfectly is your comment on my offroading or not. Please expand on that but one point to bear in mind , just because I haven't put the pictures up doesn't mean I havent done it.

Quick clue, I'd did what you've been doing all over europe and other parts of the world. Only more profesionally..................

Over to you. Lmfao.

that is the whole trouble, group leaders SHOULD lead by example, and give good accurate advise.
everyone knows me, i even had people message me saying but you do illegals and off piste....

yes i do

but if i go with anyone they are fully aware of the situation and you never see pictures of it

adz and nellie have both been out with me recently and we had fun. we was all fully aware of the rules, laws and risks.

what i dont agree with is some new bloke going out for the first time has probably risked having his truck seized a section 59 on the spot (it can still be in the post) and he was not informed what he was doing wrong .
sadly not knowing in the eyes of the law is not a defence .
it is to me but that wont stop them taking your truck , it could cost you work, arguments at home loads of shite.

when adz arrived here at the start, he ended up on some police web site for being inches to the side of the lane . think he went to the midlands or somit. and that was from a pic posted here. so be warned about your pics

and just to point out there is a member on this forum who is the chairman of CRAG, one of the bigger green lane associations with massive walkers and ramblers as members. we also have regional leaders for other associations.... now im now suggesting this has anything to do with adz's misfortune . and some here will know i have had some VERY heated public rows with green lane organizations . but as much as i disagree with there soft roll over and surrender approach . i do respect they have a view

Over to you. Lmfao.

i made the mistake and assumed so i apologize for that also you are guilty of doing the same thing

now i havnt been in the 4x4 game very long admittedly but i have been off roading for a very long time

since i was about 8 but not in this country

i have driven round parts of cornwall on trials bikes but only in a family setting as well as attended a few trial events in the same place

my dad has also been doing the same for the past 40 years but never in a 4x4 it was one of my dad best mates who had a hand in getting me intrested in bikes have a search on youtube for tek tekker arif

i have traveled arround turkey as we have homes their also this is where my dad is from, on top of that i have been round spain and France as awell as up the mountains in gran canaria and teneriffe as well as a few other places

my family like holidays we would go on one at least 4 times a year, spending most of the winter abroad with having the holiday village in Cornwall meant we were not needed as much

in the time that i have spent off road i have always enjoyed splashing through puddles and more so now as i dont get cold and wet

i dont condone what the 2 have done and as they wasnt in my group so cant say what has actually gone on

and do agree with and partake in the code of conduct offered up by c.r.a.i.g.

And relax.............................................:D
Chill pill anyone ?
I think this off piste thing has been done enough now already.
Section 59 scare mongering is maybe a little over the top in this case I think. If anyone was to follow it up from the pics, then I think a realistic approach maybe a warning at best.
However the underlying point is that it's damn near impossible not to go wrong unless there's white lines down the side of the track:augie
So dont be dispondant Richo here's hugs from wales mate :grouphug

I wouldn't have known anyone had done anything worng, until some one pointed it out :augie

i must admit i like it like it is, you sort of get to know whats usefull and whats not, and i think everyone posts with the best of intentions :thumb2

Noting wrong with good debate we all have out opinions and thoughts on a range of topics :D

The reason I rarely contribute to "how to off road" is because I havent done any for quite a few years. Keep feeling tempted to get going but its not quite the same when you have to buy and maintain your own stuff on various off road antics :augie

Just ask my mate who rolled a nearly new LWB LR . He got off with a good "wtf were you thinking of" bollocking , and "volunteering" for every shit job going for a while :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol He was later seen chasing a gp 1/4 ton trailer down a grassy hill :lol:lol:lol:lol realised afterward youre supposed to apply the brakes when you unhitch oooops

Myself, ive ran over my boss reversing a LR in the woods  he didnt see me (at first) or the funny side but the lads did :augie f me did I get bollocked :D

We all get it wrong sometimes :lol

My ultimate point was and is Bull in a china shop is rarely the right way to do it :thumb2

SSIs are quickly binned to suit if the council finds there's money to be made there:doh
Half of Cardigan bay is an SSI but that was soon forgotten when oil was on the menu. :(

I guess it may be different area to area :thumb2

If you piss in the salt marshes near us and the environment agency finds out youll be strung up by the offending bits :D

it reminds me of a tale my Dad used to tell of his Raf days when he got in aload of bother for rolling a land rover he shouldn't have been driving :thumb2all good fun.

I agree though Dave, going out and deliberately breaking something just so you can spend all you hard earned cash and free time fixing it again doesn't appeal to me. Though i do drive off road daily, but i don't risk damage, though some is inevitable.
