I've done ball bearing trick but now gonna block off egr at inlet end and be done with it bloody things!!

So any chance of a scaled tracing scan of the gasket or even the valve so I can sort mine. I'll even try and arrange a few to be made to make it easier for everyone else.

I've done the ball bearing:thumb2 have often wondered if it could be blanked off at the exhaust manifold & if that would be any easier as there isn't much room on the inlet manifold:nenau

much easier at the inlet manifold, believe me, Rick

I'm gonna do what was suggest earlier on just cut a round bit from coke can and slide it in where I take gasket from on inlet side. Will ket ya know how it goes tomorrow with pics and diameter of bit of metal

Cheers Rick wasn't sure if it would have been easier or not:augie so if i've read this right if I cut a coke can up to make a plate so the plate will just fit between the 2 mounting bolts for the egr it'll do the trick in blocking off the egr ? would the alloy from a coke can handle the heat tho over time

If you ball bearing it too heat won't get that far fingers crossed as egr shouldn't ever open

nice one pal, hope all goes well for you

Right this is area your gonna start

You want the two 12mm bolts bottom one holds dip stick too

The gasket should come out and you need to make summit like it but with out the big hole in middle

Then the reverse to fit and discard old gasket it's very fiddly but that's it no more egr hassle

Great info:clap is it just the 2 bolts you need to remove to get the old gasket out & I take it the EGR will just pull back a bit ?

Mine just fell out once bolts we're removed. Bit of a struggle getting my gasket back in as alot thicker than origonal one. I reckon coke can would be ideal but I didn't have one and not nice drilling a coke can

Hope you didn't wash the red bull can out first, you may have just found a way to solve the problem of rust at the front, as don't forget, Red bull gives you "Wings"...:D

Haha. Something that most terrano owners need

Glen.

What a great little pic post, looks like even I might get away with it

No I'm just kidding, but looks pretty easy :lol :augie

Cheers guys simple fix to dreaded egr problems and if you ball bearing the tube to it'll stop heat getting to gasket too

I just chopped mine and blocked the pipes up with a bolt. Saves looking for a ball bearing.
