We knew it was coming but does not make it any easier, she woke us at 5am squealing in pain, then a respite for an hour then again, I could not wait till 9 am when the vets open so took her down at 6.45 to the emergency 24 hour surgery and did the deed, she was 16 and a half and had a good life, free to run wherever she wanted as with all 5 of our Jacks, she is buried with the others with a tree to mark her spot, Rick

Have fun playing and pain free at the Rainbow Bridge, Tinker, it was a pleasure to meet you.:rose

The saddest responsibility of pet ownership, doing the right thing when you'd do anything not to have to.

RIP Tinker.

Only dog owners will understand how bad it hits you when you loose your best friend. They are not just pets, they are not just dogs, they are companions and part of your family. They are always happy to see you, they never judge you and they expect nothing in return.

I swore i would never have another one after i lost my first one, but i did and i would not be without her, in fact Id sooner loose the gilfriend than the dog.

Thoughts go down to you Rick, i know how you feel right now.

Thanks

thank you all for your thoughts, time heals slowly, and we will be thinking of replacing them in the not too distant future, but not just yet, again thank you all so much, Rick
