I have been having a problem with an intermittent fault on my Maverick 2.7TDi for some time now.The fault concerns the TPS sensor on the accelerator assembly. At first it was happening very infrequently but of late it was rearing its head a wee bit more often. Some will know the symptoms...on comes the MIL light and off goes the power...no acceleration and massive input of shattered nerves(depending where you happen to be at the time...like driving through the Clyde Tunnel....not fun )

I started to look for a new accelerator / sensor assembly via flebay and the like...one bloke informed me he had one and took £30 off me via Paypal...bargain I thought as long as it worked...waited for well over a week for it to arrive before contacting him to find out when I was likely to receive the item.' Oh it were posted first class last Saturday ' he says...hmm thought I ...over a week for first class...don't seem right to me. Next thing I get email from Paypal informing me that I had received a refund for £30...what a plonker.

Anyways I am rambling now....at least I got the money back.

Had a shufty at the manual....it tells me that intermittent electrical faults with the sensor could be down to poor contact at the harness...so I goes out pulls the two little plugs off the sensor and squirted liberal amounts of contact cleaner into the plugs and into where they plug into on the assembly.....Well blow me it only seems to have worked....not one more instance of fault since doing this over a week ago...

Now I know what your all thinking ....why didn't I do this in the first place....its because I'm the same as the bloke who sold/dint sell me the replacement accelerator assembly....I'm a plonker.

Upside...I have £30 credit in my Paypal account I can gleefully spend on more rubbish.
:) :) :)

I'm willing to take the £30 off your hands for a fee. :D

Well done... now just be ever so grateful you did not, in desperation, darken the doorway of a Nissan dealer!
Shows what a bit of common sense can achieve.

At £400 and odd quid for a new assembly.....doh...it was never an option...that's more than the whole car is worth :) :)

Heheheheh...sorry Fez...but I needs me fleabay rubbish fix...I'm an addict you see.

First time anybody has said I have common sense...lol
