nope,
theres 2 bolts from bottom side of inlet manifold and 2 bolts that connect pipe from turbo end to valve.
pipe ones are pigs to get to but can be done.
i left it in place and just slid gasket out.

I wanted to do the same thing this week end, but a few things stopped me.
1, I had (And still dont for sure) Have any idea what it looks like.:nenau
2, Reading the information in the manual, confused me even more.
3, After looking at a friends Disco could find nothing under the bonnet that looked the same.

Anyway, after getting back on here, it seams that the reason i could not find anything like the one on the Disco is because this is a Maverick, Not a Disco! and they are nothing alike.:doh

Im now trying to work out how to remove it, i have found how to block it off (With the aid of a ball bearing) but i would like to see if its Bolxxed as well.

If ANYONE has photos of how this is done, PLEASE PLEASE post them for us, its only easy when you know how, upto that point its impossible.

I changed the rocker cover gasket today and there was tree nuts on the underside of the cover. But I was told that the cover didn't need to come off to remove the egr valve:nenau

True, but that's not the EGR valve on top of the rocker cover :doh

Hi all, does the TDi have the EGR?

I had a look for mine today and wasnt able to find it, looking at the manual download thing the pipes go to the valve mounted below the air box, well i dont have one.....any ideas?

some do, some dont. example, mines a TDi, and i have EGR. Its located at the back of the engine, in the middle, and its a brass looking thingy and if you follow the pipe, it goes over the engine (under the I/C) to the solenoids by the filter.

not all tdi had them my x reg 2.7tdi does not have 1
