Any common problems I should be aware of?
Prob be looking for something around 52/53 plate under 100k miles.
I'll be using it as a daily, and to tow my car trailer plus drift car/tyres,wheels tools etc.

I'd get the 2.7 as u can run veg oil and easier to fix/cheaper

Rust on sills, boot floor and under seats and generally underneath

Other than rot, just usual mot bits and pieces

Make sure 4wd works

Yep 2.7 is what I was gonna be looking at. Didn't realise it could be run on veg oil, I been using it for 4 years in different vehicles. Seen a few on ebay/autotrader, 52/53 plates under 100k miles for £2.5k is that a decent price, as also seen others for under £1.5k but miles is around 150k.

Pull back the carpet under the middle row of seat (rear row on a 3 door) and check the corners where the seats sit as they rust away here at the edge of the twin skinned bit. Also the rear seat belt mountings bolt through to the rear wheel arch and that area tends to rust out. Other area common for rust is the front cross member and next to where the front body mounts to the chassis. Peel back the rubber inner arch protector to see what's happening to the body work down there as the flaps cover all sorts of sins.

As said before

Rust and poor MPG.

Other than that they are great.

Woop woop - 100 posts today and senior member status - i feel old today lol

and 'poor mpg' isn't strictly true, as large 4x4s go they are pretty good! :thumb2

1.49 ltr diesel 30mpg

Veggie oil

97 ltr 30mpg BUT

For 1.49 of veggie thats 1.5ltr = 45 mpg for price of diesel

Where you get 45mpg on a big 4x4

Happy days

There you go Plank, save you the effort! :D

KTC veg 90p ltr at booker :)

KTC oil is soya product which is ok but not the best.

Farmfoods are selling rapeseed oil in 10 litre containers for 90ppl. One of the best oils for veg running and easier to fill than using a 20 litre cubbie.

MPG - I very much doubt that any are getting 30mpg.

24 to 28 is more reasonable, then add in the speedo error of 10% (both of my t2's read 10% higher than actual and I know of others with the same variance too)

Actual Mpg nearer 22 - 25.
