I don't know it the number is correct but check it carefully before using, I often test them in a jub of hot water, if you have a thermometer you can even get the temperature right. And tighten it down carefully, it's hard to get it wrong, but i know someone who once cracked the housing and swore it was the 'blue print' thermostats fault. :thumb2

i also got some blue antifreeze , he asked if i had blue or red in .... fgs i cant remember lol..... does it matter if i put blue in , when it has red in ?

mines is a sort of yellowy green, so i don't know :nenau

I don't know what you have been putting in, but if it leaks does it make yellow snow? :lol :lol

yours was red, but it will not matter if you use blue, Rick

can i mix them ? .... ie just add a bit of blue to top up any lost coolant when i attempt to change the stat ?

yes you can mix them in your motor as you have a cast iron head, if you had an Ali head then no thats what the red is better at, corrosion resistance, but I use red in everything thats why you have it, Rick

hi,mines an 82deg thermostat, not sure which ones supposed to be better, happy new year to everyone from down under(nz)

Briggie, if you've got red in, why not just get some more red? makes sense.

Replaced ours the other day it's also a 82deg thermostat, it's also a blueprint one they looked it up using my reg # only show's the 82 deg one.
