see now this what happens when you go poking around, only found it because I took my very wet carpet out :nenau

you know I really like my maverick but think I should have got a workshop first :doh

ahh the old seatbelt mount, common place for them to rot, best get it welded up :thumbs

Mine also had the internal tyre tread depth inspection hole when I lifted the carpets out.
I cut out loads of the wheel arch and floor to get to good metal on mine.
Good luck mate:thumb2

That's pretty much as big as it's going to get I will cut the bolt out, tidy it up & weld a plate on the outside. Found it just in time me thinks?

Mine had gone right along the seam where the sealer is.
Mr grinder will soon tell you if that's as big as it's going to get.
No point cutting corners and just trying to fill the hole or you will be doing it again in six months if you don't get all the rotten metal out.

Yeah I have checked.inside & out just need to remove some around the edges

Could be worse mate, you could have more holes:lol

I would check the doubler plate underneath which runs from one side to the other at the back, water gets in between there and causes crevice corrosion. I had to cut mine out reweld a section on then refit it as well two holes in my arches like your one. Here is a link for a the newzealand VOSA type peoples repair procedure, very handy. I managed without removing the body to chassis rear bolts but it was awkward. Heres hoping your ones ok.
