Looks like I've picked the wrong weeks to have :doh :doh
So far Saturday was the only day that was reasonable with around 80% decent weather.
I can't believe it's raining again today :( :(

At least I got my hedge cut on Sat, but the underseal work on the Terrano just hasn't happened.
So to conclude.............. A whole week off work wasted & so far it's rained everyday for 10 days  :(

On the plus side, it doesn't rain in the garage :lol

Get yourself a Tarpaulin like Elty and get yer storm jacket on and stop whining!!!!!

I took torsion bars off on my back in the snow on my Maverick

You are aware there is a difference between "brave" and "dumbass"

:augie

Don't forget, just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

:lol

Nothing dumb about it, as long as you protect yourself from the elements as best you can and your work area isn't soaked and slippy etc then I'll work in anything. I actually prefer to work in really cold conditions as I get really hot when working on the truck. The torsion bars saga was a bit of an emergency so needs must.

Fair play.

:thumbs

I can't crow too much, I used to go Clay Pigeon shooting in all weathers. One day was so wet, that when you had a "no bird" (clay breaks up on launch, or doesn't launch) I had to tilt the barrels down and get a dribble of water out of the barrel.

:lol

I've learnt a lot since then!

:doh

I've found the older I get, the softer I get, wouldn't catch me working in the snow but ten years ago I wouldn't have thought twice, crack on youths I envy you :D:thumb2

Same here.. when I first started driving I rebuilt the bottom end of a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox, laying on my back, outside in 9inches of snow, because I needed the car...

Now I just nick the wifes car and wait for better weather. Lol

You could just spend the afternoon texting Clive to see how long it is before he gets hacked off :naughty:naughty

I've also worked on vehicles in bad weather. When it's been so cold I couldn't feel my fingers. I've been pissed wet through too.

No one's whining. I have plenty of time to get stuff done, it's not like I need the vehicle. I just said "I've picked the wrong weeks".
When you're as old as me, see how you feel about crawling on ya back under cars in the rain, especially when you don't have to ;)

Can't beat getting your man tent set up and just getting on with it :thumb2
All the welding work I did recently on my terrano was done through the winter, not because I had to but because I wanted to.

some of the best spraying i have done in winter with frost to hold crap on floor.

So spill the beans, how old is old? Rick

Ok. I'm a few months away from 50 & before some of the older ones start harping on about I do this n I do that. It's all down to the individual. Previous jobs especially service engineer have taken there toll. This job took it's toll on my knees & they give me some right grief at times.

My back's shagged from too much heavy lifting etc.

I now sit on my arse for a living as I deliver goods to our other warehouses.

I don't moan, I still work. I get on with it, though at times (especially in winter) I struggle.

I could be an idle b"£%!&d, sit around all day & claim what ever, but I don't.

Anyway, it's a beautiful morning & I'm off out with the dog for a nice walk :D

Holy crap, u up this early every morning?? If so you're probably more active than me n I'm only 35 :lol this is a rare occasion for me to be up at this time.

You're right it's all about the individual, I got my gas safe not just to earn more money but so I didn't have to work as hard, I'm thinking of getting it for lpg too cos things in caravans are smaller, lighter and closer together :lol work smart thats my motto :D

I'm up at around 04.30 most mornings. A habit of starting work at 06.00 every week day.
I can't be doing with lying in bed, it irritates the crap outa me as thinking of all those wasted hours when I could be doing something more productive.

Been there done all that got the tee shirt, many times when on the continent with the Daff 2800 artic did more than 24 hours non stop, much younger then of course, now I start work about 11.30 finish about 4 or earlier (no lunch stop) eat about 5.30, doddle about the yard and play on the computer till 1 or 2 am, do not stir till at least 9/9.30 then have a cuppa and a "cuddle" this for me is retirement, Rick
