Say hello from the Black Pearl monkey. Sorry to say I cant do that weekend 😑

Banshee where are you?

So the 2nd and 3rd Sept is ok for this meet. Does anyone know what area we're heading to?
Would be handy to find a campsite or 2 in case folk fancy a stop over. :camping:

Banshee, your call, Rick

cant make that weekend,

will send best wishes to every one via Rick, as meeting up with him Friday.

Sorry you will not be able make it, we will indeed convey your best wishes, look forward to Friday night for a meal perhaps, Rick

I've checked the calendar and I'm looking perfect for that weekend, nice and close for me too for once lol, I can't do the dates either side of that weekend so please dont change it now :bow

I could also camp and if any of you fancy it, we could hit Cannock Chase on the mountain bikes :naughty, isn't there also camping on the chase too near go ape? :nenau

I'm up for a weekend of it but what's this mountain bike thing you're talking about, have you been out in the sun a bit too long:lol

Sweet Jesus. I've only just recovered from the last visit to Cannock :lol

[GETTHEEXCUSESINEARLY] I'd be up for a bit of mountaing biking but it's a good few years since I've used the MTB, and it's only a hard tail with 100mm up front. And it's only a 26". And I don't do air...... [/GETTHEEXCUSESINEARLY]
If the camping at Cannock allows barbecues and open fire it could be perfect. :thumbs

Hi Guys, I am watching this thread with great interest, I have asked if one of my treatments can be put back to clear the weekend, but as I have always said, things change on a daily basis.
I have not driven for several months, and neither has the Mav been out for a run, on Monday we started out on a trip to Crewe to see the wife's sick mum, but we got as far as Rugeley, and we had to turn back as I was in a lot of pain.

On Monday we had a stair lift installed, and yesterday a lift and recline mobility chair arrived, and today a wide over the chair table arrived, which I adapted to have one 13amp lead to a twin 13 amp socket and upto 4USB charge points.

So I can now go to bed, get out of the chair without relying on my wife hauling me about, which is not doing my shoulder any good at all, and is paying it's toll on her too.

Things are not looking good, we had a few days on the boat last week, which were ace, and I managed to build a rabbit fence and gate with my grandson, one of those memory making days, which I need to do.

My son and family arrive from Bahrain on Friday, stopping for two weeks, another reason that I want to put back my treatment for a week, as it knocks me about.

My Sister and Husband are dropping in tomorrow, on their way back from seeing their son and family.

I still have a few loose ends, and a few deep conversations with the immediate family to have. I am not sure if I have said, but the oncologist thinks I could be lucky and have just over 12 months, but to be fair, things are deteriorating quite fast, and I am increasing the pain killers every few weeks, and taking additional morphine as required and certainly before any car journeys.
We signed our latest wills yesterday, so, that safeguards some of our assets.
We are trying to keep most of it in the family lol. Tax man has had enough from me already lol...

Not everyone gets the chance to put their house in order, this has not been easy.

I do hope we can meet a few of you guys, most of you have been very supportive, and I have had some excellent advice, some in the early hours too lol
Many thanks,
Uncle Rustic

With any luck the decreased physical strain due to the new equipment may mean you are in less pain. I'm not sure how I feel commenting on your condition mate so on a lighter note...you should hold a forum raffle :D:thumb2 £10 a strip and whoever wins gets 30 mins driving the mav :lol its a win win, you get some cash and the mav stretches it's legs for a bit :lol:lol

Good to hear from you, as always. I'm glad you're interested in this thread but again, if you're not able to meet, we all understand. Take 1 day at a time and keep those magic memory making days happening Rustic. You never know, some of us forum members may be in one or two:eek::D

Hi all. I have found a possible campsite for Saturday night but just waiting for confirmation. http://www.fullbrookfarm.co.uk/

As for a meeting place I've found the carpark at Castle Ring Monument which has a pub nearby http://www.theparkgatepub.com/

I assume there could be other carparks around the area of Beaudesert Park?

Theres also a bed and breakfast nearby if anyone requires one. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...ed=1i:1,t:3443,e:0,p:bOOeWcmYO8ONUaOzvrgC:615

Any input or ideas welcome:thumb2

That Fullbrook Farm is about 10 miles from the pub and B&B.
This site in Cannock Chase is only a couple of miles away., it does look as if it'll be full of rules and probably no campfires! prices are about £10:00 per person but minimum stay appears to be 2 nights...

You are correct. I've been a member of the club 15 odd years and usually use them for our main caravanning hols.
It is minimum of 2 nights and would cost me £21.60 as a member.

I am totally overwhelmed by everyone's enthusiasm to this event.
Castle ring, I know well, Park gate too but not been in there for a while.

I have pushed back my infusion a week, so it is after the weekend event... otherwise it knocks me about for the next 4 days, so chances of me making this meet is in the 90% +++

:clap:clap
