and the aston martin db9 had a volvo sat nav in it that was crap............according to top gear anyway ;)

well, from my point of view the whole Volvo isn't 'all that' i have to say the Citroen engine works much better in the Citroen! :thumb2

is volvo still with ford then, as seemed a time when ford and gm
were cutting out the bigger saloons form their ranges seemingly
as they had designer? labels filling those gaps.

maybe was to get new ideas as they ditched jag/lr and relaunched
mondeo claimed to be superior to its names predecessors.

funny that volvo trucks atleast in states is linked to White, now dont
know if white has any links to ford to complete the loop.

think theres a link between saab and scania or was, so if saab was gm
where does scania fit in?

Weren't Ford going to use the Citroen-Peugeot 1.6 Hdi 110 HP, in their range of smaller cars?

We have that engine in our Picasso, and it is a quick car, and still 50+ mpg

Had to buy a new dip stick, as the other one was too short to reach the oil, so we bought a longer one. Problem solved. :thumb2

The plastic dip stick snapped off in the tube, this is a common problem and the new ones are made of fibre glass. £ 7 from a main dealer OR £12 off ebay, so check out the dealers first.:thumb2

The new Ford Maverick ie Mazda Tribute, uses the Ford Mondeo 2 litre diesel engine.

What goes around.... comes around.

It's the same as they used in the Disco.. :doh

eh, 2 litre diesel in disco, are you sure sounds a tad small, cc wise
Here you go..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine

HDi/TDCi PSA DW 2.2 L (2197 cc) 2005–present I4 turbo intercooled 16-valve Mk IV Mondeo, Ford S-Max, Ford Galaxy, Peugeot 407, Peugeot 4007, Peugeot 607, Citroën C5, Citroën C6, Citroën C-Crosser, Land Rover Freelander, Mitsubishi Outlander

If you see a disco with a odd looking bonnet then it's a tdci..

wasn't there a disco with a 2000cc ford petrol engine? :nenau

there was a face lift mark one , around P reg thata had a 2.0 mpi rover engine, believe from
the rover 75s, didnt sell, and its gtw was lower certainly wasnt rated for 3500 kg trailer as is
standard on full size solihull stuff.

dont think was freelander motor, as either before fl introduced and if after the fl had an
L4 1.8 and a V6 2.5 though think these were found in rover cars.

last one i saw in LRO was being tdi or V8 fitted.

was supposed to be more economical in lighter duty use.

One of my mates has just bought a lovely old Mk1 Transit truck with a 2.0 pinto (well he swapped it for 2 horses) it's only done 50k (ish) miles and I quite fancy getting one, but will the reality of driving it change my mind
Heres a transit I would have..

the mk1 transit, that takes me back, back in 70s/80s school my mum
taught at had a mk1 swb minibus, 1600 petrol, had been supplied by
the sunshine? club /charity. 12 seats / 1600 cc slow isnt the word.
mind back then there were 1300 cortinas and capris. think even first
sierras had a 1300 option, in a certain 2 door shell that quickly got
dropped to become the cosworths with whale tail.

I used to go out with a girl (became Claudia for those in the know ;)) she had a 1300 Capri - with a boot, not a hatch! We drove from Brum to Devon in it. Arrive at a set of lights she says 'which way now?' i say 'straight over'

I did expect her to wait for them to be on GREEN - total loss of two innocent cars, hers and a fiesta 'Super Sport'.

The relationship all ended when she settled an argument with a knife

but that is another story :lol
