well woke up thinking what the damage will be but noting here in crediton didn't even hear a sound of very strong winds wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant and was up all night as was not very windy my weather station recorded a max gust of 36mph while in exeter about 8miles away abig tree came down so think weather where we are was sheltered which was good hope every1 esle was as lucky as us whats it been like round you.

not bad at all really up here in Derbyshire.a bit wet but not windy at all at the moment.

Pah there was no storm just the spirits welcoming Lou Reed to resting place

scare mongering all the time.
I was hopin for a proper storm.not even a breeze here

It was windier yesterday and the day before than during the night here in South Staffordshire, a few more leaves on the lawn. :nenau

Yesterday I serviced the old generator, 1.7kW, not been used for a few years, new petrol, started 3rd pull. Now I have to drain the tank and run the carb dry.:augie

BUT I have been meaning to do it for a while now...

Where we live is on a hill, and if we loose power, then the local water pumping station shuts down, and the water pressure drops, so I filled a couple of 5 litre containers, just in case. We must have our morning tea.

We also store rain water, so I could have used that for loo flushing etc.

But all prepared...

They usually advise a wider area of bad weather just in case.

Was very windy down in cornwall last night lots of branches blown off trees though only lasted about an hour at most

well, we were in Norfolk and yeah it was very windy and really heavy rain plus flooding everywhere but no where near the Armageddon I was expecting. I saw a twig fall from a tree, that's about it.

hope all those folks who are affected though are ok, I read a couple of people have died which is awful.

Not too bad in Berkshire. A number of trees down around the region, couple of minor areas with brief power cuts, but nothing like expected. All dying down quite nicely now and it's been sunny since I set out for work at 7.30 this morning

Yesterday we had quite a bit of wind but late into the night it stopped & there wasn't even a breeze:eek: think all of the wind got sucked down south:lol we have family down south & some did get hit very hard by the wind:(

well we had a major catastrophic event ..... a puddle appeared on the pavement after a brief spell of rain

OMG, how did you cope? Here in Bristol we had leaves blowing around the garden AND a puddle!!!

Spoke to my Mum this morning and a Tree had blown onto a BMW in their residents car park. Opposite Hyde Park on Bayswater Rd.

That's nothing, we had our BBQ cover blown off and a pot was blown over.

Yep looks like the powers that be that think they rule, are OTT again, Rick
