With a bit of help from the father-in-law doing my welding, I've managed to get a few jobs ticked on my 'to do' list.

We did use full 50x50mm box until I went to refit the bumper:augie had to chop some out of the uprights :lol

Managed to sort LCD display out :clap

And replaced the very worn front arb drop links with new and also upgraded to full poly bushes on front arb :thumbs

I also noticed that the n/s/f body mount needs a bit of welding, so that will be sorted as soon as father-in-law can make up my repair template in steel and weld it me in place. :thumb2

The advice I received for the LCD repair alone saved me mega bucks. That's why I didn't mind paying for membership before I made a single post.

Thanks people :clap
Shaun.

I made my crossmember out of 40mm box with 40mm angel as uprights and had to trim 10mm off to fit bumper
Nice job

Top job chap :thumb2

I've ordered that set you sent me the link for last night so If I get any problems fitting it I'll give you a shout

Would be nice to work a four day week, I changed the front discs and pads and drop link on Terry, greased and adjusted joints on my sons 89 Mini and treated the out side of my 24x12 ft garage to a dose of wood treatment, oh and some gardening as well :)

My my you've all been busy. Nice job on the front cross member Shaun, wish my father in law was so handy.

Hardest bit is getting the old links off. I removed bump stops to get better access (10mm nut under lower arm) then got the grinder out and cut straight through rubber bush and link.

I can weld easy stuff like welding the box section together, but he welds for a living so got him to weld it to the t2 as I didn't want to burn through the front panel  as his welder is a beast.
