Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with testing an injection pump when it is disconnected.
The vp44 pump in a cummins diesel you can connect negative and positive to the #6 and #7 terminals in the pump and it should allow the engine to start and idle.
Is this the same for the zd30 vp44?

I'm having trouble getting my zd30 to run. New crank sensor, new pump ECM and pump, and still nothing. My last thread was "intermittent engine faults"
My pump ECM was faulty. Has anyone had a pump ecu that cooked their engine ecu.

I can't offer any specific advice other than to confirm the VP44 should be capable of allowing the engine to start and idle without the involvement of the ECU.
The only active part the ECU plays is to adjust the the fuel injection quantity, which it does over a point to point CAN bus.
However Nissan has applied NATS to this configuration so I would want to know if this could be upsetting the party?
