I agree with that, but don't do it on a cold engine.
Do it gradually. Warm the engine first say over 5 miles
A few minutes at 70, drop back, a few at 75 mph, drop back.
Do a few miles at 70, increase to 75 for a few miles then drop back...
Keep it in lower gears and red line it a few times.....
Happy....
Now give it a good thrashing red line each gear then cruise at a good speed for a while say 20 + miles, if safe to do so.... etc......
You will notice a better engine, quieter, better tick over, more responsive.
I always do this before an MOT as during the test, they do this, and if it hasn't done this before, you can risk engine damage.
Read the small print when booking an MOT, the garage is NOT responsible for any damage during the rev test....
I may have said before that I have had my Mav over 16+ years, :doh and done this every MOT and in between if it gets sluggish. Passes MOT every time never had issues with the engine so far...
We always call our cars she, as we treat them like a woman, a good thrashing every now and again works a treat...... :naughty
But she does leave some bruising now and again....:lol :lol
No Husbands were harmed (yet) in the posting of this thread...:lol
