I have a post "intermittent engine faults" it will give some background to the issue. I posted a new topic to clean it up a bit.
Long story short, i was having intermittent faults and the engine would go into limp while driving. cycle the key, fire it up and good to go. whent on for a few months then would not start at all. Replaced the crankshaft sensor, no luck. took the pump out and found a bad PCM. Replaced the PCM and calibrated the pump (Bosch bench at a diesel shop). Got the engine running again. I added a lift pump as well. (Walbro FRB-13)

NOW

After shutting off the engine, if I turn the key on, the engine light flashes. Using Ecutalk, the Code is (75 : P5-Pump C/Module) and gauges show the (ignition c/v 94.9%)
If I try and start at this point, it just keeps turning over but no fire. I cycle the key off/on a few times and the light will stay on solid (as normal). The ignition c/v is 4.7). The motor will then start. Running the C/V runs around 55% and the spill valve at 12%

The engine light remains off for the trip, and it runs great at all rpm's and conditions. Once I shut it off and turn the key on, the engine light begins flashing again, and it will not start. Cycle the key a couple times, good to go. (until i shut it off)

I've checked ground connections and cleaned all harness connections. Could this be a bad ecu? I'm out of ideas.

This sounds like one for rayf3262, he looks in most days, or PM him, Rick

Sounds stupid mate but do you get the same symptoms using your spare key?

I will go duff ECU, or bad pump module, duff ECU could of screwed pump module in the first place, Tdoug you know as well as I that on boilers the control board often fails when you have fan failure, so replace fan and it immediately fails cos control board has blown, very similar case here me thinks, but I bow to rayf3262 on this he is the guru, Rick

I don't have a spare key. Only one and a remote unlock button.
