Hi and welcome to the club.
I had similar experiences with a loose back end when I first drove mine. Mines an 04 3ltr and also an auto box, so once it let go it was over, unless you were lightening quick chucking it into nutural!
I spent a day changing all the oils, using the comma website, as I have a local motor factor who is well stocked. It completely transformed the way it drives so would recommend this as a high priority job.
I love my terrano. It's christened the Turd, but only cos the back shocks were goosed when I got it so a bit unjust now.
